On September 29, 2020, the Youth Observation: Studying Abroad under the Epidemic academic salon co-sponsored by the Middle East Studies Institute and the School of Asian and African Studies of Shanghai International Studies University was held in the university. As many as 30 faculties and graduate and undergraduate students attended the salon. The event was hosted by Lu Yiwei, Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Asian and African Studies.
This year coincides with the 60th anniversary of the establishment of SISU Department of Arabic, and the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the Middle East Institute. For decades, the two institutions cooperated and created a distinctive and internationally influential Middle East research academic platform. In the future, the two sides will continue to strengthen cooperation and exchanges.
