Prince Turki al-Faisal of Saudi Arabia visited Shanghai International Studies University (SISU) last Thursday to receive his honorary doctoral degree from SISU. He has been SISU eight years ago after out of office as the royal ambassador of Saudi Arabia to the United States.
Prince Turki al-Faisal, accompanied with Yahya A.S.Alzaid, the royal ambassador of Saudi Arabia to China, led his group to SISU’s School of Asian and African Studies, and met with SISU President Cao Deming in the Saudi Arabian King Faisal Library, which is boasted over 6,000 books that contributed by King Faisal Center for Research and Islamic Studies (KFCRIS).
During the meeting, President Cao reviewed the cultural exchanges between China and Saudi Arabia and elaborated the development of the relations between two countries.
Prince Turki al-Faisal accepted the honorary doctoral degree of SISU and suggested to co-foster postdoctoral students in long-term cooperation between SISU and KFCRIS. He wrote his best wishes for further communication on SISU’s Autograoh Album for Celebrities.
In the speech, Prince Turki al-Faisal also announced SISU’s Professor Zhu Weilie, honorary head of the Middle East Studies Institute in SISU, to be a Lifetime Honorary Researcher of KFCRIC for his academic achievements.
