The special courses on “‘The Belt and Road’ and Shanghai” were co-held Shanghai International Studies University (SISU) and Hong Kong University from October 15 to 21, 2017. At the invitation by the Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Office at the SISU, Liu Zhongmin, professor and director of the Middle East Studies Institute at the SISU, delivered an academic speech for more than 20 participants, focusing on “China and the Middle East’s Jointly Building the Belt and Road —— Cooperation Space, Opportunities and Challenges”. Based on the concepts carding, Prof Liu briefly reviewed the development of the relationship between China and the Middle East, and interpreted the content of the “Belt and Road”. Furthermore, he analyzed the cooperation space between the two in this regard, and the challenges and opportunities ahead.
