From December 24 to 25, 2022, the 8th National Symposium on Islam was held online, co-sponsored by the Arab Institute of Beijing Foreign Studies University and the Department of Islamic Studies, Institute of World Religions, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. Nearly 100 experts and scholars from universities and research institutions across the country conducted in-depth discussions on topics such as 'Deepening the Chineseization of Islam in China' and 'China and the Islamic World under the Unprecedented Change of the Century'. Professor Ding Jun, Director of the Middle East Studies Institute, Shanghai International Studies University, was invited to participate in the conference and delivered a keynote speech entitled Understanding and Thinking about the Chineseization of Islam from the Perspective of Two Communities and Two Big Pictures at the conference on the 24th, and gave an academic commentary on a session on the 25th.
