Professors Liu Zhongmin and Fan Hongda Attend the 4th International Symposium on Turkish Studies

On December 20, 2022, the 4th Shaanxi Normal University Symposium on Turkish Studies was held as an online conference, organized by Shaanxi Normal University's 'Belt and Road' Cultural Research Institute and Shaanxi Normal University's School of History and Culture, and hosted by Shaanxi Normal University's Center for Turkish Studies and National Ethnic Affairs Commission of the People's Republic of China's Black Sea Rim Research Center. The theme of the conference was '100 Years of the Turkish Republic: History and Prospects'. Nearly 60 scholars from home and abroad participated in the symposium.

 

Professor Liu Zhongmin and Professor Fan Hongda from the Middle East Studies Institute of Shanghai International Studies University were invited to participate in the symposium. Professor Liu Zhongmin delivered a keynote speech on 'The Three Great Ideological Legacies of the Ottoman Empire and Turkey's Identity Dilemma', and Professor Fan Hongda delivered a panel speech on 'Turkey's Concern for Iranian Affairs in Recent Years'.
