On December 18, 2022, an international symposium on 'China-Iran Relations and the New Dynamics of Eurasia' hosted by the Shanghai Institute of International Studies (SIIS) was held online. The opening speeches were delivered by Chen Dongxiao, President of the Shanghai Institute of International Studies (SIIS), and Marandi, Vice Rector of the University of Tehran, Iran. The conference was chaired by Zhou Yuyuan and Jin Liangjian of the Shanghai Institutes of International Studies and concluded with a summary of the conference. More than 20 scholars from China and Iran attended the conference and discussed the situation of China-Iran relations, the Middle East and Eurasia.

Professor Ding Long from the Middle East Studies Institute of Shanghai International Studies University was invited to attend the conference and made an academic speech entitled 'Strengthening China-Iran Practical Cooperation'.
