Professor Ding Jun Participates in the Think Tank Forum on Religious Studies of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences

On December 16, 2022, the Religious Studies Think Tank Forum (2022) of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS) and the Symposium on 'China's Position and World Vision: Deepening the High-Quality Development of Religious Studies Think Tanks with Chinese Characteristics' were held online. The conference was organized by the Think Tank for Religious Studies of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, and co-organized by the Institute of World Religions of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and the Chinese Society of Religion. Mr. Gao Peiyong, Vice President of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and member of the Party Group, Mr. Cui Maohu, Vice Minister of the Central United Front Work Department and Director of the State Administration of Religious Affairs, Mr. Wang Zihao, Deputy Director of the Research Bureau of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, and Mr. Zheng Xiaogun, Director of the Institute of World Religions of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and President of the Chinese Academy of Religions, attended the opening ceremony and delivered speeches.

 

The forum focused on 'Research on the Chineseization of Religion and the Construction of Marxist Religious Studies', 'China's Local Experience and the Construction of Three Systems of Religious Studies', 'China-Arab Destiny Community and China-Gulf Countries Strategic Partnership', and 'World Perspective and the Construction of Religious Studies'. The topics of 'World Vision and Chinese Position: Regional and Country Religious Studies' were discussed in depth. Professor Ding Jun, Director of the Middle East Studies Institute of Shanghai International Studies University, was invited to attend the conference and delivered a speech entitled 'Contributing to the Construction of China-Arab Destiny Community through Humanities Exchange' in the sub-forum of 'China-Arab Destiny Community and China-Gulf Countries Strategic Partnership'. He also chaired a seminar.
