Speaker Introduction:
Professor Robert S. Ross, known as Lu Bobin, is a Fellow of the Fei Zhengqing Center for Chinese Studies at Harvard University and a Professor at Boston College, U.S.A. He received his Ph.D. in Political Science from Columbia University in 1984 and taught at Columbia University and the University of Washington, D.C. He was a visiting scholar at the Brookings Institution in Washington, D.C. in 1989. From 1994 to 1995, he was a Fulbright Professor at the China Foreign Affairs Academy, and in 2003, he was appointed as a Senior Visiting Fellow at the Institute of International Strategic Studies, Tsinghua University. 2014, he was a Visiting Scholar at the School of International Relations, Peking University, and from 2009 to 2014, he was an Adjunct Professor at the Institute of Defense Studies, Norwegian Defence University College. In addition, Professor Lu is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations and the National Committee on U.S.-China Relations, and a senior advisor to the Security Studies Program at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Professor Lu's research focuses on China's security and defense policies, East Asian security, and U.S.-China relations.
