On the morning of June 12, 2023, Professor Huang Renwei, Executive Vice President of the Institute of Belt, Road and Global Governance of Fudan University, was invited to deliver a lecture entitled “Geopolitical and Geo-Economic Risk Study of ‘One Belt, One Road’” at the 116th lecture of the Middle East Studies Institute (MESI) of Shanghai International Studies University (SISU) at Hongkou Campus. The lecture was hosted by Professor Ding Jun, Director of the MESI, and attended by Yu Yong, Deputy Director of the MESI, as well as researchers and graduate students including Liu Shengxiang, Ding Long, Niu Song, Fan Hongda, Zhang Yuan, Zhao Jun, Han Jianwei, Bao Chengzhang, and Wen Shaobiao.
In his lecture, Professor Huang Renwei took the international geopolitical game under the century-long big change as the starting point, analyzed the current geopolitical and economic basic situation, and combined with the geopolitical and economic factors related to the construction of "One Belt, One Road", assessed the future development prospect of the strategic game of major powers. Professor Huang emphasized that in order to cope with the changes in the international geopolitical landscape, China should further innovate its geostrategic theoretical research and strengthen the construction of a community of destiny around the Middle East.
After the lecture, Professor Huang Renwei also had a lively interaction and exchange with the teachers on the geopolitical and economic issues related to "One Belt, One Road".
Finally, Professor Ding Jun summarized the lecture and expressed his gratitude to Professor Huang Renwei for his wonderful lecture and the active participation of students and teachers.
