On July 17, 2023, a delegation of political parties from Arab countries visited Shanghai International Studies University (SISU). Samir Rifai, a member of the Fatah Central Committee of Palestine, was the head of the delegation. The delegation consisted of 48 representatives from 43 political parties from 11 Arab countries.

Yu Hailin, Deputy Director of the International Exchange Center of the Foreign Liaison Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC), and Liu Jinghua, Deputy Director of the Economic Liaison Center, as well as relevant staff of the CPC Central Committee and the Foreign Affairs Office of the Shanghai Municipal Government, visited together. Jiang Feng, Secretary of the Party Committee of SISU and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Sino-Arab Reform and Development Research Center received the foreign guests at Songjiang Campus.

Researcher Zhang Yuan from the Middle East Studies Institute (MESI) of SISU participated in the scholars' discussion and exchanged views and interacted with the foreign guests about China's foreign policy in the Middle East.
