Introduction

In order to further study and implement the spirit of the 20th CPC National Congress, strengthen international academic exchanges, promote the construction of international communication capacity, and contribute to the study of security and development in the Middle East region, and on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of China's Global Development Initiative, Global Security Initiative, and Global Civilization Initiative, the Middle East Studies Institute, Shanghai International Studies University(SISU), together with the Chinese Association of Middle East Studies and the Middle Eastern Studies Department of Hamad Bin Khalifa University of Qatar, will jointly organize the 8th International Forum on Asia and the Middle East on September 16-17, 2023 in SISU, with the theme of the Middle East Security and Development in the Global Context.
