Speaker Introduction: Hassan Hakimian, Professor, is the Acting Dean and Director of the Middle Eastern Studies Department, College of Humanities and Social Sciences at Hamad Bin Khalifa University of Qatar. He is Professor Emeritus of the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London, UK, and Chairman of the Advisory Board of the Economic Research Forum, Cairo, Egypt. He has served as Associate Dean of Cass Business School at the University of London, Director of the London Institute of Middle East Studies at the School of Oriental and African Studies, and founding member and former President of the International Iranian Economic Association (IIEA). Professor Hakimian is committed to the study of the Middle East economy, with a long-term focus on the Middle East labor market, economic sanctions, inclusive growth and other topics.
