Lecture 121 of the Think Tank Construction Series “The Impact of the Current Palestinian-Israeli Conflict on the International Landscape and Geopolitics of the Middle East” Successfully Held

On the morning of December 8, 2023, the 121st lecture of the Think Tank Construction Lecture Series of the Middle East Studies Institute (MESI) of Shanghai International Studies University (SISU) was held at Hongkou Campus. Wu Yihong, Former Director, Party Secretary and Editor-in-Chief of the Middle East Branch of Xinhua News Agency, Senior Researcher at the Taihe Think Tank, was invited to give a lecture titled The Impact of the Current Palestinian-Israeli Conflict on the International Landscape and Geopolitics of the Middle East.

The lecture was hosted by Professor Ding Jun, Director of the MESI at SISU. Vice Director Yu Yong, researchers including Niu Song, Ding Long, Zhang Yuan, Zhao Jun, Shu Meng, Zhang Hanwen, Han Yuxin, as well as graduate students and international students attended this lecture.

In the lecture, researcher Wu Yihong made a judgment on the cause of the outbreak of the new round of Israeli-Palestinian-Israeli conflict, the latest development trend, and analyzed the impact of the conflict on the geopolitics of the Middle East region and the international pattern, and interpreted China's commitment to persuade peace and promote negotiation, and to promote the peace and development of the Middle East region to show the role of the great powers.

After the lecture, Researcher Wu Yihong also interacted with the teachers and students present on related issues and answered their questions in detail. Finally, Director Ding Jun summarized the lecture and expressed his thanks to Researcher Wu Yihong for his wonderful lecture and the active participation of teachers and students.
